SGT Group has announced the expansion of the Optiron Business Complex, which is
currently undergoing construction. Originally covering only Optical Media Disc and
Related Apparels, the facility which is already 70% completed, is being expanded to
accommodate SGT Technologies’ new ventures in digital and magnetic storage devices,
consumer electronics, and mobile accessories. The new development is set to increase
efficiency and productivity in the whole SGT group.
M
r. Hamid Dizji, CEO of SGT, has said
that the expansion is a necessity that the
company is very excited to undertake in.
The digital world is such a fast moving industry and
in SGT we know that we have to adapt in order to
remain as one of the frontrunners in this field. The
OMD sector is already a mature part of our business
and we feel that SGT is ready to expand and explore
other areas to respond to new market demands.”
The expansion of Phase 1 has increased the budget
to a total of 110 million Dirhams for construction
alone, not including working capital and merchan-
dising. With its completion, the management expects
the complex to be able to facilitate smooth custom
clearance and efficient re-export operations. The site
is located in the Dubai, Techno Park within easy ac-
cess to the Jebel Ali Free Zone and the Al Maktoum
International Airport. The strategic location will
provide the company significant financial and time

savings on logistics.
The Optiron Business Complex has a plot area of
108,622.20
square feet with a total built up area of
85,214
square feet. The complex features 30, 000
square feet of office spaces, an insulated warehouse
with a capacity of 100,000 m3, with Dexion standard
storage, and an onsite weighbridge that can hold up
to 120,000 kg. Security and safety are top priorities
so the site will be equipped with addressable fire
fighting & alarm systems with a 3-level upright in-
rack sprinkle device, and monitored 24/7 by the most
advanced, integrated surveillance and access control
solutions.
Following a green-building concept, the complex is
utilising light-weight aerated blocks and energy-sav-
ing motion-sensor lighting system with dimmable
ballast. These environment-conscious steps are
important to SGT’s commitment in helping promote
progressive & positive communities
