COMPANY NEWS
T
he recession that haunted the economy during the past few years undeniably posed
a challenge to business owners all across the world. The boom took a slower climb
and businesses had to adapt to unexpected shifts in terms of market demands, cost
of goods and the overall decline of the economy.
For the UAE in particular, I believe that rather than calling it a crisis, this period was
more of an opportunity for the young economy to make some necessary corrections in
terms of establishing businesses.
The rocket-like pace of the economy had industries such as real estate and construc-
tion, taking shortcuts that, if not corrected, would have resulted to hard, expensive conse-
quences in the future. This is why in my opinion, the UAE did not suffer as much as other
countries because we all gained the chance to take a step back and reassess our actions
carefully.
2012
is the year when we finally saw a light coming in. We had to create a strong push
and maximise every small opportunity to make progress. It was definitely not a walk in the park but it took resilience
and tremendous management tactics to ensure that commercial stability and profit margins were maintained by apply-
ing effective and innovative methods, products and services.
In 2012, SGT implemented new policies, increased its business portfolio and acquired new partners worldwide. It was
a time to strengthen our resources and create prospects for the future. These steps confirm that the group chose a con-
fident path to be able to take on 2013 fully recharged and recovered.
With the advent of the New Year, we are only positive that SGT will continue to advance and expand its operations
with a solid international commercial presence. We will celebrate with the rest of the UAE in having full recovered to
face a much stronger and enduring economy.

jungles of Costa Rica, ten men and ten women
will go on an extreme adventure competing for
the ultimate prize of travelling the world.

brought to our attention, the team was imme-
diately excited because it totally fits our Xtreme

because it is also a test of fitness and physical

finding that true love”

their fascination with Botox and plastic
surgery.
